Oyenike Laoye-Oturu, known as Nikki Laoye, is a multiple award winning singer and philanthropist known for her eclectic musical expressions and captivating stage performances. In an interview with Punch, she gave her thoughts on s*x as well as why she and her husband chose to wait.
She stated that contrary to popular belief that virgins have boring marriages and are clueless when it comes to making love, she said she knew what she was doing the first time they had s*x because she had learned a lot about s*x education.
She said,"My husband was not surprised that I was a virgin when we got married because he was also a virgin. Even though I was a virgin when I got married, I had equipped myself with information on s*x education. I preach to Christian ladies that they should not think that because they are virgins, they should not find out how to get things done because when they get there, they have work to do. It has been fun and an adventure for us because we are finding out things about ourselves."
Nikki added that, she decided to remain a virgin because being a very emotional person, she would not like to sleep with any man that she would not get married to. She admitted the journey wasn't easy but, she stuck to her vow.
"I decided to remain a virgin till I got married. I did not just want to be jumping from one man to another. It is often said that once you pop the cherry, you can't stop and I did not want to deal with s*xual issues while I was dealing with my life and education. I also did not want to get pregnant, so I told God to help me. I was tempted a lot but I was blessed to have wonderful relationships whereby the men respected my decision and even helped me to keep my promise. My husband also told me that he kept himself for a special woman. The truth is that now that I am having a lot of s*x, I have come to realise that it is very emotional and it should be done with someone you will love to see the next day."
The dark-skinned beauty advised young ladies to abstain from pre-marital s*x. She said s*x was worth waiting for and that their husbands would respect them more.
"s*x is worth waiting for and the truth is that if you do it, when you are married, you would have plenty of it. I have plenty of it and I am never tired of it because it is with someone that I love. It is fun and we come up with a lot of crazy ideas and we are never guilty about our actions. It is worth waiting for and the man would respect you because he knows that you could have slept with every Tom, man-hood and Harry but you decided to wait,"she said.
The songstress recently dropped the video of African dance her latest single off her new album, 'The 123 Project'.
